Pastor
Pastor Kevin Richter (goes by Pastor Kevin) grew up in the small, rural town of Adair, Iowa. He attended Concordia University in Seward, NE, for his undergraduate degree. He completed his pastoral training in St. Louis, MO, at Concordia Seminary. He met his wife Dauline (goes by Dauli) while serving his first call at Peace In Christ Lutheran Church in Hermantown, MN. They got married in May of 2019. Their daughter, Maisy Mae, was born on Pastor Kevin's birthday in November of 2020.
He began serving St. John's Lutheran Church on January 10th, 2021. He loves hunting, fishing, golfing, wood working, and many other hobbies. Pastor Kevin and Dauli enjoy traveling, gardening, raising chickens, and deer hunting together.
The Richter family loves being a part of the Reinbeck community. After two miscarriages, they were blessed with the birth of their youngest daughter, Tansy Rae, on August 23rd, 2025. Dauli, besides home-schooling Maisy and caring for Tansy, teaches Sunday School, leads a women's Bible Study, and helps with VBS. Pastor Kevin, besides caring for St. John's, leading nursing home services in Reinbeck, and serving on the Steering Committee of the local Life Wise Chapter, also serves as chaplain of Valley Lutheran School in Cedar Falls.
Pastor Kevin's door is always open. Feel free to stop in and say hi or join him for a cup of coffee anytime.
